Idaho@Play is a state wide initiative which brings AmeriCorps members and community volunteers together to promote play as a way to combat childhood obesity. 

2015 Idaho@Play Scheduled Events
In southwestern Idaho, AmeriCorps members will host two free outdoor activities - an Afternoon of Play and a trip to Zoo Boise

  • Tuesday, June 2, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Afternoon of Play, Whitney Community Center, 1609 S. Owyhee St., Boise, ID  83705
  • Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Trip to the Zoo Boise for disabled veterans at 355 Julia Davis Drive followed by a barbecue in Ann Morrison Park.

More than 10 additional events are scheduled statewide and include:

June 1, Moscow, Evening Event, 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Kenworthy Performing Arts Center.

June 3, Hayden, School End of Year Field Day & Fun Run, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Hayden Meadows Elementary.

June 5, Blackfoot, Community Fishing Event, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Jensen Grove Park.

June 6, Lewiston, Game Day, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lewis-Clark State College.

June 6, Moscow, Resource Fair and Family activities, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute.

June 8, Pocatello, Family Fun Day, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. OK Ward Park.

June 17, Jerome, Veterans Fishing Day, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Blue Lakes Trout Farm.

Idaho@Play 2014 recruited 140 volunteers that provided nearly 1500 hours volunteer service, impacting  10,074 Idaho residents.

Sherman@Play an Idaho@Play project comes in 3rd place - Thank you!
GREAT NEWS!  The Sherman Elementary Playground will receive a $25,000 grant to make a difference in Nampa Community. Sherman Playground is one of 40 organizations to win a State Farm Cause An Effect grant.  

After three weeks and more than 1.2 million votes, State Farm® will present Sherman Elementary with a $25,000 grant to improve Nampa community. Sherman Playground was one of 3,000 Cause submissions State Farm received through Cause An Effect, a crowd-sourced philanthropic initiative that relies on non-profit organizations to create solutions to community issues identified by Facebook users.
